Bliss Series
Bliss cymbals are new cymbals made in an ancient tradition. Each one is an individual work of art, painstakingly hand-forged and handhammered. They have a warmth that seduces at low volume and thunders with a froth of dark undertones at more extreme volumes. Bliss cymbals have micro-lathed surfaces with a low bridge, small but clear bells and are quite thin by modern standards. They are exceptionally resilient and slightly soft on the stick. The undertones are warm, rich, dark with an edge of dragons breath. Each one is a unique, complex voice that will excite your imagination. Surface: micro-lathed by hand, multiple passes Bow: low, gentle bridge Bell: small but articulate and clear Weight: thin but evenly distributed across the whole cymbal Hammering: hand hammered before and after lathing, final tuning Stick sound: woody but articulate, round attack Wash: lots of wash throughout spectrum, well balanced, quick decay No added EQ or effects are used when recording the cymbals.
Contact Series
Contact cymbals possess a bright stick presence and lively response and are completely hand-hammered featuring a deeper profile with a relatively larger bell, the stick feel is very lively, the pitch higher but still rich and warm. These are medium to thin cymbals that speak very easily. Faster and louder, these plates also have depth and complexity in the undertones with a shimmering wash that drives the sound forward and up. Great for jazz, studio, rock and concert work. Surface: custom knife wide lathed by hand final pass Bow: medium taper smooth bridge Bell: larger than Bliss, articulate and very clear Weight: medium thin, even taper, very fast response, full sound Hammering: deep hand-hammered both hot and cold Stick sound: clear and full, fast and lively Wash: full spectrum, higher pitch than Bliss, very responsive and medium decay length.
